Jennifer Hawks

As Ground Effect Media’s Chief Executive Officer, Jennifer is responsible for leading Ground Effect Media’s client strategy and product development. She is a co-founder of Ground Effect Media with Ken Majors.
Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Literature degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara with an emphasis on Film and Media Studies.
She has produced written content for national magazines, corporate websites, marketing specialists, technology companies, financial investors, and law enforcement agencies, among others.
In addition to being CEO of Ground Effect Media, Jennifer hosts the monthly podcast radio show My Yukon Life at She offers listeners the opportunity to step into the life of a different Yukoner every show. Bush pilots, trappers, award-winning musicians, and dog mushers are among those she interviews.
Jennifer is a licensed pilot with a night rating and is trained in bush flying technique. In addition to flying, she enjoys hunting and fishing when she manages to sneak out of the office.
As Ground Effect Media’s Chief Operating Officer, Ken is responsible for Ground Effect Media’s day-to-day operations, product development, and technology strategies. He is a co-founder of Ground Effect Media with Jennifer Hawks.
Ken holds a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration in Information Technology degree from Colorado Technical University.
He is the former Vice President Technical Services at Choice Solutions and brings his proven technology and administrative expertise to Ground Effect Media.

Ken is certified in MCITP, MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist, Virtual Machine Manager, Hyper-V), CCEA (Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator), VCP (VMware Certified Professional 3.X, 4.X), and ITIL v 3.0.
In his spare time, Ken enjoys building stick and paper model airplanes, fishing, riding his motorcycle, cooking, writing, and reading. Though he considered building a home photography studio, he launched a media company instead.
